1983-84
Spring 1983- Chris Horne (guitar) wants to form an all-girl
band named "The Brood". Later that year she meets
Betsy Mitchell at a local club called "It's Magic"
where Betsy's boyfriend is playing. Betsy gets a Mosrite
bass and they get together to learn a couple of songs. Chris
has a Burns Baldwin guitar, so Betsy later gets a matching
Burns Baldwin bass guitar. By early April 1984, they get
Kathy Wagner on vocals and on May 30, Kristen Chalmers joined
on organ. On July 16, 1984, the group auditions drummer
Cassie Bean on stage at Geno's on an off-night, and everything
clicked. The band was formed. Geno's would be their home-base.
