1961 an approaching thunderstorm over Los Angeles was the impetus for this
remarkable recording. With two EV Studio Microphones & an Ampex 601 Recorder,
all the drama of the spectacular thunderstorm & gentle rainfall was captured.
The Mystic Moods Orchestra, under the direction of Don Ralke, then provided
the appropriate romantic musical accompaniment. In the final mix down at
Golden State Recorders, in San Francisco, the Stereo sounds of the storm
were fed over channels 1 & 4, and the music into channels 2 & 3, with both
being synchronized exactly so that music climaxes coincided with similar
storm crescendos. The result is the most ultimate must-have bachelor pad
