**************************************** U N I C O R N - Blue Pine Trees
Alright! Here is an original US pressing of the Unicorn LP, Blue Pine Trees. It features David Gilmour (ex-Pink Floyd) on Pedal Steel Guitar; Pat "Mad Dog" Martin (related to Eric Clapton); Peter Perrier; Kevin Smith (ex-Camel); Kenny Baker. This is said to be the group's best LP, reminiscent of groups like Poco, Firefall, Traffic, The Byrds, and the Flying Burrito Brothers. The album was produced by David Gilmour, and mixed at George Martin's Air Studio just off Oxford Circus in London. The engineer was John Middleton and the tape operators were the sons of Spike Milligan and actor Peter Sellers. The selections are: Electric Night; Sleep Song; Autumn Wine; Rat Race; Just Wanna Hold You; Holland; Nightingale Crescent; The Farmer; In The Gym; OOH! Mother; and the title track, Blue Pine Trees. This album was released in the USA under the name "Unicorn" with the successor being called "Unicorn 2." In actuality, Blue Pine Trees is their 2nd LP. Rather confusing. On CAPITOL RECORDS (11334), from 1974, and has a different cover than the European release. There still is no CD release of this title. The record jacket has a some minor color rubbing, and some light edge wear, but appears in overall Excellent condition. The original orange Capitol labels & playing surfaces all appear in overall beautiful near mint to MINT!
